I'm Rugina, and I’m on a mission to help women feel their best at every stage of life. With a background in life sciences and a deep fascination with the way the body works, I spent over 10 years studying pharmacology and neuroscience. Over time, my focus shifted to women's health, specifically the changes women undergo as they age. Having my own inspiring PT made me realise the benefits of having someone regularly challenge my fitness and highlighted the importance of self-care.
Like many women, I’ve experienced firsthand how challenging it can be to adapt to an ever-changing body. While overwhelming and confusing at times, with mixed and conflicting information publicly available, it sparked a desire to help empower other women to navigate smoothly through these stages of life. As I learned more, and after reading “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande, I also began to confront a deeply personal fear – the fear of ageing – not just for myself, but also my ageing parents. It’s a universal concern, watching our bodies change, knowing we’re not always in control, and worrying about how those changes may affect our health and identity. This fear has driven me to search for answers and solutions that are both practical and grounded in the latest scientific evidence.
What started as a journey of managing my own health and trying to help my mum retain her level of fitness has inspired the creation of HerBioFlow, which aims to help women feel empowered by creating a body-positive environment and encouraging them to take control of their health and embrace every stage of their life with confidence.
